Attorney Lin Yu-teng from our firm joined the Taiwan Bar Association delegation at the 36th LAWASIA (The Law Association for Asia and the Pacific) Annual Conference in Bengaluru, India, held from November 24 to 27, in the 112th year of the Republic of China. Attorney Lin presented on "Navigating the Landscape of Information Privacy Protection in Taiwan: Post-NHIRD Case Insights," shedding light on the legal strategies and responses of Taiwanese citizens concerning government digital policies, including the Taiwan National Health Insurance Database, digital identification cards, and incidents of leaked household registration data. The presentation aimed to share insights into the evolving context of privacy rights protection in Taiwan post the NHIRD case and public sentiments toward digital initiatives.
